View DetailsRepellent sprays wear off, coils fill the room with smoke, and citronella only helps if you're sitting right next to it. These devices work differently — and quietly.
Nothing is sprayed, burned or released into the air, so a pet safe mosquito killer is genuinely an option for nurseries, kitchens and vegetable patches.
Switch on, then get on with your evening. There's nothing to reapply and nothing to remember once the light is on.
USB power, a rechargeable battery or free sunlight — there are no refills, cartridges or mats to keep buying.
Tip out a tray or brush off a grid. Most lamps are light enough to carry from the bedroom to the deck to the campsite.
Three simple ideas sit behind everything we sell. Knowing which one fits your space is the fastest way to choose well.
A soft UV glow draws insects close and a tiny fan pulls them into a tray. Quiet, bedroom-friendly and completely enclosed. See indoor traps.
A purple LED attracts mosquitoes and moths to a guarded grid that zaps them. Portable, rechargeable or solar-powered. See zapper lamps.
A fine mesh dome keeps mosquitoes physically out, with no power or light needed at all. See the pop up net.

The best mosquito trap depends on where the mozzies bother you. For bedrooms and nurseries we recommend a quiet USB or plug-in indoor mosquito trap; for patios and camping, a rechargeable mosquito zapper lamp; and for gardens, a set of solar bug zappers. Our range covers all three, which is why many Australian households end up choosing more than one.
Our indoor mosquito traps start at A$32.99 for a single USB trap, and the plug-in version is A$39.99. Mosquito zapper lamps start at A$39.99, solar bug zapper sets from A$69.99, and the pop up mosquito net is A$59. Every price is shown in Australian dollars, and multi-packs bring the price per unit down.
Yes. A set of 3 rechargeable mosquito zapper lamps is A$99 instead of A$119.97 for three singles, and the pack of 5 is A$149 (under A$30 each). Any order with two or more units also qualifies for free tracked delivery, so multi-packs are usually the better value.
Delivery is a flat A$14.99 for a single item, and it's free when your order contains two or more units — that includes multi-packs and solar sets. The pop up mosquito net always ships free. The delivery cost is shown clearly in your cart before you pay.
Choose a mosquito trap if you want the quietest option for sleeping — it pulls insects into a hidden tray with a gentle fan. Choose a mosquito zapper if you want something portable for patios, verandahs and camping; it lures insects to a protected grid that zaps them. Many homes use a trap indoors and a zapper outdoors.
"Mosquito killer lamp" is the general name for a light-based device that attracts and eliminates mosquitoes, and a bug zapper is one type of it — it uses a protected electric grid. Our mosquito traps use suction instead of a grid, while our zapper lamps and solar lamps use a grid. Both use a UV or purple light to draw insects in.
In everyday use, yes. An electric mosquito killer or mosquito lamp is a powered device that attracts flying insects with light and then traps or zaps them. The main differences are how it is powered (USB, rechargeable battery or solar) and how it catches insects (fan or grid).
An indoor mosquito trap glows with a soft UV light that mosquitoes and other small flying insects are drawn to. A tiny low-voltage fan then pulls them into a collection tray inside the unit, where they can't escape. In the morning you simply empty the tray.
For a bedroom, pick a quiet mosquito trap with a soft glow and a small fan — our USB Indoor Mosquito Trap and Indoor Mosquito Trap with Plug are both designed for exactly that. Place it near the bed but away from curtains, and switch off other lights so the trap is the brightest thing in the room.
Yes. A USB mosquito trap runs at about 5 watts on low voltage, so it works from a phone charger, a laptop USB port or a power bank. That makes it easy to use in a caravan, a spare room or anywhere without a free power point.
Connect the included micro USB cable to any USB charger, power bank or computer and charge the lamp until it's full. Press the button on top to switch it on — you'll feel a click and the LEDs will glow. Press again to switch it off.
Yes, our mozzie zapper lamps are portable and work well as an outdoor mosquito zapper on patios, verandahs and camping trips. For best results, switch one on at least two hours before you sit outside, and keep it under cover rather than in heavy rain. Place it a few metres from your seating so insects are drawn away from you.
A solar bug zapper has a small solar panel that charges a built-in battery during the day. At dusk the lamp switches on by itself, and in purple mode the light draws in mosquitoes and other flying insects to a protected grid. In white mode it simply works as a garden light.
It will still charge on cloudy days, but with less energy, so the run time may be shorter. Fully charged, our solar mosquito killer lamps run for over 8 hours. Position them where the panel gets as much direct sun as possible for the best result.
As a rough guide, a set of 2 suits a small courtyard or verandah, a set of 4 suits an average backyard, and a set of 6 suits a large lawn or garden with several seating areas. Space the lamps a few metres apart around the edge of the area you want to protect.
A pop up mosquito net has a flexible spring frame that springs open into a dome when you take it out of its bag — it takes about three seconds and needs no hooks or ceiling fixings. You tuck the edges under the mattress, zip yourself in, and the fine mesh keeps mosquitoes out while letting air through.
Yes — that's what it's built for. Our portable mosquito net is freestanding, sleeps two, and folds flat into the carry bag supplied, so it fits in a car boot, caravan or suitcase. It also works well as a backup in a spare room or guest bed.
Our automatic indoor fly trap uses a slowly rotating plate and a little sweet bait, such as honey or jam. Flies are attracted to the bait and carried into the collection box, which you simply lift out and clean. It's chemical-free, so it's suitable for kitchens and dining areas.
A small dab of honey or jam on the grooves works well. Some people also have good results with sugar dissolved in apple cider vinegar. If flies aren't responding, try a different bait and keep bins sealed so the trap is the most appealing option.
Light-based mosquito traps do catch mosquitoes, particularly in a dark, enclosed room where the lamp is the brightest light. No device catches every insect, so they work best alongside good habits such as closing windows, using fly screens and tipping out standing water. We'd rather set realistic expectations than promise a mozzie-free house.
The most common reasons are competing light sources, open windows or doors, and placing the lamp too far from where you sleep. Turn off other lights, close the room up, and put the lamp on a bedside table or dresser. If mozzies are breeding nearby, clearing standing water from pots, gutters and buckets will help too.
Put an indoor mosquito trap close to where you sleep or sit, at about bed height, and away from curtains or walls so the fan can draw air freely. For outdoor zapper lamps, place them a few metres from your seating so insects are drawn towards the lamp rather than towards you.
Switch the lamp off and let it rest first. Use the cleaning brush supplied to brush debris off the grid, then wipe the outside with a dry or barely damp cloth. Never spray water into the lamp or clean it while it's charging.
Our lamps and traps release no chemicals or insecticides, so there's nothing toxic to breathe in or lick off surfaces. The zapper lamps also have a protective outer layer around the grid. As with any electrical product, keep cables tidy and place devices out of reach of curious pets and small children.
They're chemical-free and run on low voltage, which is why many families use them in bedrooms. We'd still recommend placing the device out of reach of children, keeping cables tidy, and reading the safety information that arrives with your order.
No. Our mosquito traps, zapper lamps, solar lamps and fly traps work with light, a fan or a grid, and our pop up net is a physical barrier. There are no sprays, coils, cartridges or repellents involved.
